HYUNDAI  is all set to launch VERNA on 22  AUGUST . Booking of VERNA is already commenced. You can book with 25000 rs which will be refundable . HYUNDAI is all set to launch its THIRD Generation VERNA in INDIA . 

Hyundai has worked very hard to bring certain features which are first in segment . Lets see these features 

• ECO COATING :  With name of ECO COATING we get confused , and start thinking what exaclty it does will be first question in our mind . According to HYUNDAI , ECO COATING is technology which will eliminates odour from AC . This will improve your CABIN experience . 
• PROJECTOR FOG LAMPS : We all aware of PROJECTOR HEAD LAMPS . This Projector Head lamps is very helpful feature .It actually makes your drive more comfortable during night hours . Hyundai has added PROJECTOR FOG LAMPS in VERNA . This will reduce stress during night hours .
• VENTILATED SEATS : Hyundai has added feature of COOLED seat in VERNA . This feature is you have seen in HYUNDAI ELENTRA . The Seats has supply of AIR from AC and transfers these air to keep you cool . However heating feature is not available . As according to INDIAN condition , HEATER is not very necessary . This feature will be very needed during hot summer trips .
• HANDS-FREE BOOT OPENING : Another new feature include Hands-free Boot opening , this feature makes NEXT GEN VERNA class apart from its rivals . For opening Boot you only have to wave your foot underneath it and it  will open boot .

SKODA OCTAVIA RS LAUNCH

SKODA will be launching OCTAVIA RS by this month . The review blog of Octavia RS will be done after its launching , this blog is only to inform you about confirmation about launch  of Skoda Octavia RS . Skoda Octavia RS booking has started with token amount of 1 Lakh. 

Internationly Octavia RS available with two engine options as 

•  1.8 Lt PETROL  ,TURBOCHARGE , 4 CYLINDER , 220 BHP 
•  2 .0 Lt DIESEL , 184 BHP , 380 NM of TORQUE .

FORD ECOSPORT FACELIFT 2017

FORD ECOSPORT FACE LIFT will be getting launch in late of September or in early October.Ford will start delivering this new MODEL from November onwards . Ford has use good strategy to launch vehicle in festive season in INDIA . Sale of vehicle during festive season is more than other seasons . This can give huge opening sales to ECOSPORT .

  Ford ECOSPORT currently coming in three engine option .

1. 1.0 PETROL , 3 CYLINDER, TURBOCHARGED, 125 PS , 170NM .
2. 1.5 PETROL,4 CYLINDER, 111PS , 140NM
3. 1.5 DIESEL , 4 CYLINDER, 100 PS , 205 NM 

According to reports Ford ECOSPORT will come with all new 1.5 Lt 3 Cylinder DRAGON series PETROL engine along with existing engine options . This new engine will produce around 120 PS and 153 NM of Torque . With this new engine both Automatic and Manual transmission system may be provided . Transmission system will be standard 5 speed manual gearbox or 6 speed dual clutch automatic transmission system .This new engine will be made up of Aluminium, which will reduce weight around 10 % . Effect of low weight aluminium engine will be seen raving this engine . New model also get many changes inside BONNET . Dragon series engine may get additional technologies such as INTEGRATED EXHAUST MANIFOLD, VARIABLE  OIL PUMP , ROCKER SHAFT WITH HYDRODYNAMIC BEARING , DUAL VALVE INDEPENDENT VALVE CONTROL . All these together will make this variant more power packed machine .

FORD has also done many changes in the Exterior of ECOSPORT. This includes new front redesigned bumper , new single piece grille , new headlamps also new 17 inch alloy wheels . Ford will be also adding revised  colours  palette. In rear tailgate design may remain same as older with space for spare wheel .All this change will add more stunning looks to ECOSPORT .

FORD ECOSPORT also getting many changes in Interior . Many reports saying that Ford will be providing 8 inch SYNC 3 touchscreen floating Infotainment system which is seen in FORD ENDEAVOUR . Engine of Endeavour is very flexible . Common rail motor is used in Endeavour . Below 2000 rpm it is slightly irresponsive . But above 2000 rpm range it very responsive . Gearbox performs its job with good efficiency . In manual mode it is slightly hesitant .Seats are placed very high it actually boost your confidence . Steering wheels is also very responsive . Good feedback from steering wheel . In terms of power also ENDEAVOUR is very good machine to drive . 

FORD has provided TERRAIN MANAGEMENT SYSTEM . This enables to choose DRIVING MODE . This mode changes POWER DELIVERY of ENGINE , SUSPENSION SETTINGS , STEERING RESPONSE , TRACTION CONTROL , ABS ALONG WITH EBD according to need of roads .  This mode include SNOW ,SAND , ROCK mode . Terrain management help to maximise traction and stability which result to keep your vehicle in control . 

In SNOW mode - RPM is lowered for great control over snow surface . ABS ,TORQUE are minimised to improve stability .

TERRAIN MANAGEMENT SYSTEM 

In SAND mode - Accelerator sensitivity is increased . WHEEL SLIP are used to maintain constant momentum needed to drive in sand . 

In ROCK mode - 4WD is shifted to first gear . Rock mode means actual offraoding mode . In rock mode ABS and TORQUE Transfer is maximise , which is necessary to drive in offroading condition . 

ENDEAVOUR has HILL DESCENT CONTROL AND HILL START ASSIST . Hill descent control takes you downhill at safe and steady pace . You only have to take care of steering wheel . Hill descent control actually controls braking of vehicle during downhill travelling . Whereas Hill start assist helps you during hill incline . You just have to take your foot off the brake . System will hold the brake for few second and you have to accelerate your vehicle .

ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL in ENDEAVOUR ensures Grip & control around corner and when overtaking . It also has ELECTRONIC POWER ASSIST STEERING with Pull drift compensation technology . It measures driver steering input and adapts to changing road condition . 

SEMI AUTO PARALLEL PARK ASSIST feature is also present in ENDEAVOUR . It detects perfect size parking spot . Then you only have to control acceleration , gears and brake . IT steers automatically . The major task for parking such muscular SUV is steering handling . NEXON has three Drive mode to choose from (i.e ECO, CITY ,SPORT) . In all these three modes changes occur only in engine characteristics . No changes in suspension , braking, gearbox . JEEP has recently launched its new model COMPASS . Price of all variants of COMPASS is also less than expectations of INDIAN market conditions. JEEP has given INDIAN market some affordable SUV. COMPASS will give tough competition to all its rivals. Now lets talk about looks of this new machine

   From exterior you can find COMPASS very stunning. COMPASS have seven slot grille at front . It makes it standing out from other rivals . This seven slot grille is signature of JEEP . In middle row seat are very comfortable , leg room is also good . Flow panel has little amount of hump .  There are two ac vents in back , also  one usb port .If there are only two people in back , then you get nice armrest . JEEP COMPASS boot has capacity 438 Lt . It is square shape boot .spare wheel is kept behind lead in boot space . Loading lift is not very high . Low can easily kept your luggage . JEEP COMPASS has 6 speaker mounted in such ways that gives you superior experience .

ENGINE & OTHER SPECIFICATION

DIESEL ENGINE is 1955 cc , it gives power delivery of  171 BHP @ 3750 rpm & torque of 350Nm.
PETROL ENGINE is  1368cc , it will give you 160 BHP @   3750 rpm & torque of 250 NM  & TURBOCHARGE . Power delivery figures for petrol engine is very good . This is same engine you will get in FIAT PUNTO . DIESEL VARIANT has only 6 speed manual gear box option to choose from  while PETROL VARIANT has 7 speed automatic and 6 speed manual gear box option . In DIESEL variant gear throws are nice . But are not light , it require little extra effort . Clutch is also strong in diesel variant . DIESEL variant also shows turbo lag below 2000 rpm . You will get best delivery of torque in range of 2000-3500 rpm .  Steering on COMPASS is little tight , this steering experience , you will face in only city roads . During highway roads this steering is very good responsive . Suspension is little firm , in city speed you will get some noise of rumble strap but this will get disappear in highway . Nice soundproofing is done all through body of COMPASS . You will not hear sound of diesel engine in cabin . Cabin is very well isolated from out side noise.

JEEP COMPASS has different modes . You will get AUTO ,MUD, SNOW, SAND mode to choose . In these mode engine , suss pension , gearbox changes its property and gives better driving experience in chosen mode .COMPASS has HILL START  ASSIST feature in it .

EPB engages brake when door of vehicle is open and seat belt is unbuckled . It automatically disengages when it find safe conditions . You will miss TRACTION CONTROL in COMPASS .

JEEP COMPASS has quoted millage of 17.1 km pl for 4*2 variants and 16.3 km pl for 4*4 variants . JEEP provided price range of COMPASS in range of 14.69-20.66 lacks which is low compare to expectations of INDIAN MARKET. ABS AS SAFETY STANDARD

Safety during driving is important aspect , both automotive industry and consumer wants .  industry is on research for safety system and has come up with ABS which is available from most base variant as standard . You don't have to buy luxurious or expensive vehicle to experience feature of ABS. Now back to technicality , what exactly ABS is ? How it works ? Let us know in detail all about ABS 

ABS : ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM . ABS is safety equipment . ABS uses electronic s to detect and prevent wheel lock-up. In actual it allows wheel to maintain tractive contact with road surface . Thus avoiding wheel lock-up and prevent skidding of vehicle .

  In traditional braking , when brakes are applied under heavy loads , braking pressure becomes high resulting from heavy loads, thus wheels of vehicles look-up and start skidding . Skidding wheel are difficult to control . You cannot steer the skidding wheel . In ABS during same heavy loads when brakes are applied , high braking pressure is overcomes by monitoring speed of each wheel and releases pressure on brakes on each wheel in form of pulses . This prevent locking up of wheel . As wheel does not lock-up during heavy loads it gives better control over the vehicle . ABS does not allow you to stop faster . It will give you better control steering and helping to avoid hitting object that caused you to brake hard . 

ABS

ABS PROBLEM  : It does not have list of problems . When you drive over loose dirt , mud , snow  or low grip surface the ABS does not function well because constant releasing of pressure can extend stopping distance .  This problem can easily overcome . On such loose surface locked up wheel is more effective because it help car to stop without extending stopping distance . That's why OFF ROAD vehicles or OFFROADER has feature to switch off ABS to get low speed grip over loose surface . ABS mainly has speed sensor, release  valves .

                        

ABS EXPERIENCE : I had taken experience from many drivers who had lot of technical experience along with driving. I found similar thing about ABS . Even  in high speed nearly about 120 km/hr if sudden brakes are applied with ABS car had stopped in distance of hardly 100metres  and in few seconds . This car also remain straight without slight movements in left or right . With ABS you can also corner safely without going out of track. It allows safe corneing .

 When you notice ABS light blinking on your instrument cluster , it indicates problem with your car ABS system . Even though your car will able to brake but will not stop your vehicle with same way as in ABS . So you have to be careful . Along with ABS light blinking if brake light is also illuminated your car will not be able to brake. You can primarily perform checkup by own during such situation to know problem . Check fluid level . Ensure that there is sufficient fluid in reservoir . Otherwise there is problem in sensor or releasing valve ,which needs to check your car properly by mechanic . Along with ABS there is EBD system provided in cars 

EBD :  ELECTRONIC BRAKE FORCE DISTRIBUTION . EBD is system in which braking force on each wheel of car varied according to factor such as condition of road , speed of vehicle , load bearing on each wheel . 

  In actual it is not compulsory to apply same amount of brake force on each wheel to stop the car . Under static condition wheels have same load . But under dynamic situation some wheel carry a heavy load than other and will require more force to stop car . EBD detect how much weight being supported by each wheel and each changes amount of braking force on each wheel . IT has mainly three components speed sensor , electronic control unit , brake force modulator . This components make EBS to work properly .

WHEEL BALANCING

WHEEL BALANCING : Wheel balancing is process of equalising the weight of tyre and wheel assembly , so that tyre rotate smoothly at high speed . Whenever there is damage ,imperfection , extra wear on tyre or rim , the weight on one side of wheel and tyre get higher than other side . Due to this imbalance weight tyre wobble out , produces vibration on steering wheel . If you notice vibration on steering wheel which is absent one day before then your tyre must balancing .

   Now what exactly done in wheel balancing ? In balancing, wheels along with the tyre are placed on tyre balancer . tyre balancer centres wheel and locks it is that position .After which it spins wheel at high speed to determine where the weight should go . In actual it tells location of highest weight in wheels , so that technician place weight in opposite side to balance the wheel .

WHEEL BALANCING MACHINE 

  Traditionally wheel balancing is perform manually . Later on balancing is done on balancer machine . It gives better results than manual balance process . In addition to balancing, ROAD FORCE BALANCE is is also done .

  The wheel and tyre do not have same weight all around . The small air lead hole on wheel also affect balancing . this balancing produces vibration which can easily observe in speed of around 60-80km/hr. Tyre balance out eventually after run of 10000km or sometimes even after run of 5000km depending upon road conditions . As tyre wear out on one side it starts to balance out . NEED OF ALIGNMENT

      WHEEL ALIGNMENT  and WHEEL BALANCING  are two different things . Most of people get confused between wheel alignment and wheel balancing . They often think both process are similar one . But it is not like that . Both process concerned with WHEEL , but follows different process. In this blog we will look deeply in WHEEL ALIGNMENT .

WHEEL ALIGNMENT :  Alignment is adjustment of system that connect vehicle chassis to its wheel i.e suspension system . In wheel alignment ,wheel are not adjusted . In actual the angle which affects,how tyre make contact with road is adjusted . The angle are adjusted so that they are perpendicular to ground and parallel to each other . This ultimately increases tyre life to its maximum.

 HOW TO KNOW YOUR CAR NEEDS ALIGNMENT 

• Vehicle will pull to one side either to left or right .
• Front tyres shows signs of uneven wear.
• steering wheel will no longer remains straight , it will be off centre.

What exactly technician do in wheel alignment

If you had seen alignment report then you must gone through these word like CAMBER , TOE , CASTER and certain number reports are given for all three . 

CAMBER : This is referred as inward or outward angle of tyre when viewed from front side of vehicle . Camber may be positive  camber or negative camber . 

POSITIVE CAMBER : Too much outward tilt .

NEGATIVE CAMBER : Too much inward tilt . 

  

 Camber misalignment results from ball joint , worn bearing and other suspension parts . 

 

 CAMBER WEAR : The inside and outside of tyre wear more than centre of tyre . This is mainly due to positive or negative camber . 

TOE : Toe alignment is extent to which tyre turn inward or outward when viewed from above . Image given below will give you proper idea . Toe-in is when tyre on your car angled in same way . Toe-out is when tyre angled outward.

TOE WEAR : This can cause one side of tyre wear down more rapidly than other .

CASTER : Caster angle balance steering , stability and cornering . Actually it is angle of your steering axis when viewed from top .

IMPORTANCE OF ALIGNMENT 

 Tyre should be properly align, if the tyres are not align it leads to rapid , uneven , premature worn out of tyre . When you drives car over potholes or bad patch of road in high speed , it will badly affects suspension system .  May camber , toe or caster settings will change due to high speed , causing misalignment of your car . Alignment is very important in terms of safety and increases tyre life.In misaligned vehicle steering wheel will be centre off . Alignment cost will depend upon your tyre size . It starts approx from 250rs for 12 inch tyre varies to 1000 rs or even more . In normal hatchback or compact hatchback car alignment is done for front wheel only .
